We have many links with the Hawk and Owl Trust –the “Hawk Trust” as it was originally called. We were both involved with the Trust from its inception. On 4th October 1969 we were
jointly invited by Phillip Glasier to attend the Trust’s Inaugural Meeting. John was the guest speaker, talking about diseases of birds of prey
The Hawk Trust published the original edition of John’s book “*Veterinary Aspects of Captive Birds of Prey*” (the first book devoted to this subject) in 1972. We both organised and spoke
at Hawk Trust conferences and seminars throughout the late 1970s and 1980s. Margaret (MEC) regularly gave the Trust guidance on legal and ethical issues and John (JEC) chaired the
Hawk Trust’s Scientific Committee for many years.
It’s good that there is now a tie-up between the Hawk and Owl Trust and FFON.
This is good to see, Simon.
